Writing our Own Story
Farming is a way to preserve the past, in the form of seeds passed down through generations. Friends and neighbors are passing seeds to us constantly, and we enjoy our part in preserving this Southern cultural heritage by growing these varieties for ourselves and our customers.
We take a culinary approach to market farming, and look for amazing flavor when selecting our vegetable varieties. Customers at our Farmers’ Market booths can talk with us directly about ways to cook certain veggies, and members of our CSA will enjoy recipe cards and video tips on preparation, straight from our farm kitchen. For us, to grow well is to eat well is to live well. It’s really that simple.
The vast majority of our seeds are sourced from Eden Brothers in Arden, NC. While we love supporting regional businesses, Eden Brothers goes beyond just being local — they offer amazing customer service and grower-friendly discounts at their seed warehouse on Brevard Road. Best of all, their entire stock is non-GMO, and they carry plenty of certified organic seeds as well.
Our goal in farming is to feed our community. If you have a long-lost love of a certain vegetable variety, we will be more than happy to try and source seed, and dedicate space in our field, to grow it for you.
